About

Given the crisis levels of homelessness facing the City of Santa Barbara and the added challenges of the pandemic and related recession, we need more outreach, services to meet basic needs, and strategic, targeted case management to exit individuals from homelessness. Neighborhood Navigation Centers (NNCs) serve as a neighborhood-based one-stop shop for services for those experiencing homelessness. The services provided include case management, food distribution, healthcare, hygiene and showers, mental health support, pet care, and more). Each NNC site offers services on a different day of the week and at different times of the day, selected based on the needs of the target population. By providing services in the community, SB ACT hopes to create an infrastructure to better serve individuals and families experiencing homelessness and to create a structure for accountability that reduces the impacts of homelessness in our neighborhoods.
