Exploitation and trafficking is a real, felt issue in Santa Barbara County. In response, SBACT coordinates the SB Coalition for Freedom, a partnership between non-profits, government agencies, faith communities, and community members involved with fighting issues of local exploitation. Prevention efforts are focused around awareness, particularly with youth that are already at-risk.
The SBCF meets bi-monthly and has begun planning events to build awareness and prevention, as well as to come alongside and support local survivors.
