Greetings Friends & Partners--
Mayor Helene Schneider has come forward urging faith based communities and organizations to join her in the Mayor's Challenge 2015 - Ending Veteran Homelessness. Through the Mayors Challenge to End Veteran Homelessness, mayors and other state and local leaders across the country will marshal Federal, local, and nonprofit resources to end Veteran homelessness in their communities. This means reaching the point where there are no Veterans sleeping on our streets and every Veteran having access to permanent housing. Should Veterans become homeless or be at-risk of becoming homeless, communities will have the capacity to quickly connect them to the help they need to achieve housing stability.
To manage, streamline, and work with the variety of partners to end veteran homelessness, we are in need of hiring a Coordinator. Beginning at 10hours/week and growing with the need and funding availability, we are asking churches and faith communities to support the position at $10,650 for one year. Uffizi Order has committed to $1,500 toward the cause, and now are only $9,150 for funding the position at 10hours/wk. We are hoping to have the Coordinator begin by Mid-January 2015.
To make a donation, you can Donate Here (select Mayor's Challenge from the Drop-Down list) or send a check to: Uffizi Order, PO Box 217, Santa Barbara, CA 93102 (Please write Mayor's Challenge in the Memo Line).
